AUMQuotient respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023 and (where applicable) the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules.

2. Data We Collect

We collect:

  • Account Data: Email, password (hashed), profile information
  • Demographics: Age band, role, region, country (for personalization)
  • Assessment Responses: Your answers to scenario-based questions
  • Consent Records: Your consent history and versions
  • Payment Data: Processed by third-party providers (e.g., Razorpay). We do not store full card details on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for:

  • Generating your dharma assessment reports
  • Personalizing recommendations based on your profile
  • Improving our assessment algorithms (anonymized)
  • Providing customer support
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not: Sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as necessary for service delivery (payment processors, email services).

4. Payments

When you make a purchase, payment processing is handled by third-party payment gateways (for example, Razorpay) and their banking partners. We may receive limited payment-related metadata (such as payment status, reference IDs, and timestamps) to confirm your purchase, grant access, and provide support.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We implement:

  • Encrypted databases (PostgreSQL with schema separation)
  • Secure authentication (JWT tokens)
  • Regular security audits
  • Access controls and audit logs

6. Your Rights (DPDP Compliance)

Under DPDP and applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all your personal data
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data (with exceptions for legal obligations)
  • Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Consent Withdrawal: Withdraw consent at any time

7. Anonymous Mode

You can opt for anonymous mode when starting an assessment. In this mode:

  • Your responses are not linked to your account
  • Limited historical data is stored
  • You can still receive reports, but they won't be saved to your account

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics without your explicit consent.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data:

  • While your account is active
  • For 7 years after account deletion (for legal compliance)
  • Or until you request deletion (subject to legal requirements)

10. International Transfers

Our infrastructure and service providers may process data in India or other locations. Where cross-border processing occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

AUMQuotient is intended for users aged 12 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 12 without parental consent.

12. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
